Transformation Practitioner
I have worked over 30 years with children and young people from birth to adulthood in statutory and voluntary organisations. I have experience of working with hundreds of children and young people offering them individual support to enhance their personal development, delivering mentoring, social, mental, and emotional support, while setting personal realistic targets.
My practice is client led focusing on supporting autonomy, resilience, and transformation into their best self. I work in compliance of safeguarding and other relevant legislation to my practice.
I passionate about working with young people, it is extremely rewarding when you support a young and see them transform into their best self. I understand that many young people are experiencing challenges that others in their lives are unable to support them with or unaware of. Young people are sometimes labelled and judged and just want to be listened to and are receptive to non-judgemental support, guidance, or advice.
My BSc Honors Open Degree gave me academic validation of my practice, supporting teaching and learning widening my knowledge of primary education and curriculum and extending my ability to work productively with both children and teachers.
Childhood and youth studies explores what it means to be a child today, with contrasting case studies from around the world. Learning through enquiry in Primary Schools consolidated my knowledge and understanding of how primary age children learn and develop. This gave techniques in observing, evaluating and supporting children's learning.
Psychology in Childhood and Adolescence explored a variety of perspectives on childhood and psychological development from birth to adolescence. Working together for children focused on listening to children, promoting children's well-being and multi-agency working. In addition to this I successfully completed Children’s workforce Development Council (CWDC) Induction Standards.
